IOM Brazil Country Office (CO) works closely with the Federal Government and partners to support migrants and host communities across Brazil. The office contributes to national and local efforts to ensure migration is well-managed and benefits all, with a focus on protecting vulnerable populations and promoting their rights in Brazil.
IOM Brazil Programme Unit is responsible for programmatic design and implementation in areas such as migration governance, humanitarian assistance, public policies strengthening to guarantee rights to people on the move, counter human trafficking and smuggling of migrants, and support to the Federal Government in organizing humanitarian emergency responses.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Brazil and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, the incumbent will provide technical and operational support in advancing IOM Brazil’s partnerships portfolio with government counterparts at the federal and national levels. This includes assisting in the development and enhancement of migrant-sensitive policies and programs, and in adapting service delivery models to ensure equitable access to basic services. The incumbent will also play a key role in supporting the design and effective implementation of engagement activities with UN agencies and civil society organizations, which are strategic partners within IOM Brazil’s programmatic framework.
