What’s the role?This position will lead and manage the Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) programs across operations in Brazil, ensuring compliance with national regulations (NR 1–38), international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001), and company policies. The role promotes a proactive safety culture, drives continuous improvement, and safeguards employee well-being and environmental sustainability.
Main Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Brazilian labor and safety laws (NR series), environmental regulations, and ISO standards.
- Manage the investigation of incidents, ensuring thorough analysis is conducted to determine root causes and preventive measures are implemented.
- Maintain and update required documentation (PPP, AST, APR, CAT, ASO).
- Program Development & Implementation
- Develop and implement EHSQ strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Lead emergency response planning and maintain permits and licenses.
- Training & Communication
- Deliver EHSQ training sessions, including onboarding, medical checks, and Daily Safety Dialogues (DDS).
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure effective EHSQ integration into all operational processes and projects.
- Promote awareness through SSMA lectures and Health & Safety Committee engagement.
- Quality Assurance
- Lead initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of operations and promote sustainability practices.
- Monitor and improve quality systems aligned with ISO 9001.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor compliance with EHSQ standards, identifying areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present EHSQ performance reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EHSQ roles within the oil and gas or marine industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EHSQ management systems and conducting audits.
- Strong knowledge of relevant EHSQ regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in accident investigation techniques and risk assessment methodologies.
- Certifications in ISO standards, NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
