PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are looking for someone comfortable collaborating closely with all of these groups to enable excellent data-driven decision making. Given the cross-functional nature of the role, strong communication skills are critical. Great business analysts who can double as software engineers or excellent software engineers with an appetite for business analytics would be an ideal fit. Previous experience is preferred but not required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architect and build a reliable, effective, and scalable data infrastructure
- Design/maintain tools and frameworks that support building data pipelines that collect, connect, centralize, and curate data from various internal and external data sources
- Implement systems for tracking data quality and consistency
- Work closely with analysts, data scientists, and product engineers to understand data needs and design/maintain scalable data models
- Support future data-driven products
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of applied big data experience
- Advanced skills in Java/Scala/Python
- Expertise in distributed database/columnar data store (Redshift/BigQuery)
- Familiarity with event streams and stream processing
- Excellent team-work and communication ability
- CS, Engineering, Math, or related quantitative discipline
- Mortgage background not required, but eager to learn the business
